Camp Counselors & Caring: a United Way campaign for a United Way team
Fall is just around the corner and our team is excited to partner with volunteers and businesses to get them ready for the annual United Way campaign. But, before we do, we ourselves wanted to bring some office hijinks to rally our own team to give to the community we love. Some highlights of our camp-inspired week included:
- mini School Supply Drive where our team brought items to donate to the School Supply Drive
- team picnic over lunch where we heard from Karla about why she donates money to United Way
- a penny war where each director had a fishbowl; pennies and dollars are positive points, silver change is negative points. Team members donated throughout the week; the director with the most got to throw a pie in the face of the director with the least (Congratulations to Kaycee, sorry to Summer). Some post-event negotiations allowed for a bonus donation and bonus pie (Sorry to Tom). However, the community is really who won as an additional $500 was raised for our community!
- a prize drawing if you completed your pledge early (Congratulations to Ahmed!)
- camp craft time where you could decorate your own flower pot
- make-your-own trail mix bar
- camper golfing, with marshmallows (Congratulations to Taylor for the longest drive!)
- dress like a camper: LIVE UNITED T-Shirt and shorts.
- camp-inspired breakfast
- family picnic where we brought our partners, children, and pets to enjoy some fun in the sun
At the end of the week our Camp Counselors Karla & Nicole led a fun, engaging campaign. We had 100% team participation in pledging…and, most importantly, we have a team excited to help our community during this fall’s campaign.
Giving not only helps our community, it can be fun and rewarding. We look forward to helping you plan your internal campaign and seeing the great ideas our volunteers come up with to inspire their teams.
