I Wish My Teacher Knew
Imagine if the biggest things affecting you were the things you didn’t talk about? Is it because you are embarrassed? Or because they make you sad? Or you don’t think people care or understand?
We watched as students at Northern Cass School were asked to do a seemingly simple assignment and answer the question “What I wish my teacher knew about me.” And the responses were eye-opening.
This exercise highlighted the need for additional resources at local schools to help students get access to counselors and mental health professionals to share their struggles and provide support and resources to help meet their needs. Because of investors, like you, and the United Way, these services became available at Northern Cass School.
And because of their success, we are hoping to expand this service to other schools across Cass and Clay counties.
