When you give to the United Way School Supply Drive, you’re doing more than donating pencils and backpacks, you’re empowering local kids to succeed. In our community, 1 in 7 children – 6,700 kids – are growing up in poverty and for 1 in 4 families, the stress of making ends meet is a daily struggle.
This year, we’re increasing our impact and asking the community to help us reach our goal of sending 6,500 students back to school on their first day of school with confidence, hope, and the tools they need to succeed. A full backpack. New supplies. And the powerful message that someone believes in them.
We know there are more kids who need our support, and this increase brings us closer to closing the gap. We are committed to ensuring every child has the tools they need to succeed.

Volunteer and help us spread the word: It takes our whole community to help us reach our goals. Help spread our reach by sharing about the drive in your workplace, network, and with family or friends. We’ll be sharing additional information on volunteering and announcing a limited number of open volunteer spots through our social media channels in June.

All students, including yours, deserve to feel confident as they walk through the doors on their first day of school with the tools they need to succeed on their back.
We invite those in need of a backpack and school supplies to attend one of our backpack pickup events at the FARGODOME on:
• Wednesday, August 6: 4:30–6 p.m.
• Thursday, August 7: 4:30–6 p.m.
• Friday, August 8: 11:30 a.m.–1 p.m.
