Your Voice Shapes What’s Next

By Sandi Piatz, President & CEO, United Way of Cass-Clay

Every few years, we get the chance to step back and ask ourselves a simple but important question: are we still focused on what matters most?

We’re in one of those moments right now.

United Way of Cass-Clay is building our next strategic plan, the roadmap that will guide everything we do from 2027 through 2030. Before we start setting goals or making decisions, we want to do something we think is even more important: listen.

That’s why we’re asking people across the Cass-Clay community to weigh in through a short community survey. It takes about 8-10 minutes, it’s completely anonymous, and there are no right or wrong answers.

We’ve been hosting small roundtable conversations across the community as part of this process, and the response has been overwhelming. But we never wanted this to be a conversation that only a few people got to be part of. The survey is how we open the door wider.

We want to hear from everyone: donors, volunteers, nonprofit partners, business leaders, and community members who may have never crossed paths with United Way before. We’re asking about the challenges you see in our community, what you think United Way does (and what you think we should do), and what role you believe we should play in the years ahead.

Your perspective matters, because it will genuinely shape what we prioritize. The results of this survey will be reviewed alongside feedback from community roundtable discussions and focus groups as we build a plan that reflects what this community actually needs.
