Coaches made possible by your donations make our hearts soar with gratitude. United Way investors helped Rose reach her dream of becoming a CNA and together we are lifting her family and children out of poverty. Rose and her son are featured on billboards throughout our community.
She was proud to share her story in hopes it would inspire our community to support United Way’s work to provide more Career Coaches. Fatima had been working as a cashier in our community. She was a hard worker and wanted an opportunity to make a better wage to support her family. When positions opened for Team Lead or Manager she would apply, yet was never able to get the position.
- Thanks to United Way, Fatima was able to connect with a Career Coach and was determined to gain additional skills to reach her goals.
- Her Career Coach helped her improve her computer, writing, and leadership skills she needed to work toward achieving that promotion and next step in her career.
- The next time a position opened up, Fatima was selected and promoted to Team Lead, which meant an increased wage allowing her to better support her family and thrive in our community!
